Ottawa Community Housing is the largest social housing provider in Ottawa, and the second largest in Ontario. OCH provides over 14,800 homes for about 32,000 seniors, parents, children, singles and persons with special needs. The Corporation employs approximately 340 people.
The City of Ottawa is the sole Shareholder of Ottawa Community Housing (OCH). The Corporation operates at arm’s length from the City and has a Board of Directors of twelve members.
With the scheduled departure of its CEO, and the upcoming retirement of the Executive Director, Tenant Services, the organization seeks to continue building on its leadership and track record.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Together with an experienced and dedicated team, the CEO has overall responsibility and accountability for the management and development of the assets, human resources, operations and administration of the Corporation. He/She oversees the provision of complex and geographically dispersed housing services to Ottawa’s most vulnerable residents, ensuring effective and efficient operations are delivered within a client focused framework.
This position requires an energetic, strategic thinker with extensive people management and business skills. A confident communicator in both English and French with a demonstrated capacity to build diverse partnerships, this professional is comfortable working in diverse and complex environments including with government and media. Commitment to community building and expertise in change management ensures this innovative leader will ensure service excellence.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, TENANT SERVICES
Reporting to the CEO, the bilingual Executive Director, Tenant Services leads a senior team of four Directors who are responsible for tenancy and maintenance services delivered through four operational districts, a 24/7 Call Centre and Community Safety Services Program. Fostering the development of community partnerships and initiatives and ensuring the identification and measurement of KPI’s are integral to continuous improvement, renewal and redevelopment and excellence in service delivery of the housing portfolio.
The ED, Tenant Services will bring comprehensive knowledge of social housing and housing provider networks, property management as well as extensive knowledge of service delivery, operational requirements and change management. An experienced manager, the ED must have excellent communications skills, an understanding of the municipal and broader public sector and a familiarity with media relations.
CASUAL BUILDING CUSTODIAN
SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Casual Building Custodian will provide a range of services related to building cleaning and site services in OCH communities on an as required basis. Reporting to the assigned Property Manager, the Building Custodian may be assigned responsibility for the cleaning of interior and exterior common areas of multi-residential and townhouse communities according to a general building schedule, which includes daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal tasks. A Building Custodian may also be assigned work based on temporary requirements or site conditions.
