INTEGRATED BUILDING SYSTEMS COORDINATOR 

 

SCOPE OF POSITION

The Integrated Building Systems Coordinator reports to the Manager, Building Systems Maintenance and is a member of the Asset Management Team. The Integrated Building Systems Coordinator coordinates all integrated building systems including installation, preventative maintenance, and technical assessments.  Integrated Building Systems include access control systems, building system monitoring and alarms, day-to-day and emergency communications (other than cellular phones), video monitoring and recording, and building automation systems. 

 

The Integrated Building Systems Coordinator works in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in a team approach to provide excellent service delivery to OCH clients.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

A typical candidate will have the following qualifications and experience.  Exceptional candidates with different qualifications will be considered at the discretion of the employer if demonstrated experience, knowledge and ability warrant.

  • A post-secondary diploma in mechanical/electrical engineering systems, building systems automation, building system network administration, building controls, or other applicable discipline
  • A minimum (7) years of experience in integrated building systems with responsibility for system evaluation and assessment, contract/project management, and/or system monitoring and control
  • A minimum (4) years of experience in Asset Management with responsibility for field inspections, condition assessments, system installation and maintenance

 

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Residential building systems including building automation/monitoring systems, elevating devices, mechanical, electrical systems, HVAC, fire protection, and security
  • Best practices and requirements for integrated building system monitoring and reporting
  • Routine and preventative maintenance practices for building systems
  • Program planning, design, cost estimates and basic project management
  • The interpretation of construction specifications as it relates to design standards, building components and materials related to Integrated Building systems
  • Relevant legislation (eg: Ontario building Code, TSSA, Ontario OH&S Act and Regulations, Ontario Electrical Code, CSA/ULC standards) 
  •  Ability to set priorities and co-ordinate diverse and conflicting activities
  •  Understanding of the values and objectives of a social housing organization and commitment to support those objectives
  • Ability to develop and monitor budgets
  • Capacity to operate effectively in a team-based approach with effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve problems in the context of complex maintenance issues 
  • Effective written and oral communication skills relating to diverse audiences
  • Capacity to gather, compile and report information related to building systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with database management

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

·         Fluent oral and written English skills

·         A functional capacity to communicate orally in French is desirable

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

·         Must possess a valid Class “G” driver’s license or equivalent and must provide a personal vehicle for business use

·         Police record check

 

SALARY RANGE         

·         $34.43 - $39.69 hourly

CASUAL BUILDING CUSTODIAN

 

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Casual Building Custodian will provide a range of services related to building cleaning and site services in OCH communities on an as required basis.  Reporting to the assigned Property Manager, the Building Custodian may be assigned responsibility for the cleaning of interior and exterior common areas of multi-residential and townhouse communities according to a general building schedule, which includes daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal tasks.  A Building Custodian may also be assigned work based on temporary requirements or site conditions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

A typical candidate will have the following qualifications and experience.  Exceptional candidates with different qualifications will be considered at the discretion of the employer if demonstrated experience, knowledge and ability warrant.

 

Education and Experience:

  •  Completion of a minimum Grade 10
  • A minimum of three (3) months experience in building cleaning
  • Completion of health and safety training required by legislation and by OCH

 

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Possess a demonstrated knowledge of janitorial functions for residential buildings and communities
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices and legislation
  • General knowledge of policies and procedures related to health and safety
  • Ability to communicate effectively with work related contacts
  • Ability and skills to perform interior and exterior cleaning
  • Must possess the physical and technical capabilities to perform the duties of the position

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Oral fluency, reading and writing abilities in English are required
  • Bilingualism preferred

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Must possess a valid class “G” driver’s license or equivalent
  • Security Clearance is required
  • Flexible to work evenings or weekends as required

 

SALARY:
